We will share with you some of our
most favorite places that we love and enjoy in the
most beautiful, lush, and scenic areas on the Windward
side of the Big Island of Hawaii. You will absolutely
love this tour! This is definitely a must see
experience!
This very special excursion starts with a pickup at your Hilo
area hotel, Hilo International Airport, or Port of Hilo
Cruise Terminal. We take you through Liliuokalani
Gardens on Hilo Bay and Old Town Hilo on the way to
Beautiful Onomea Bay on the Pepeekeo Scenic Drive on the
beautiful Hamakua Coast. Our first stop is the famous
Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden. Here is one of
Hawaii’s most beautiful and extensive collections of
exotic orchids, bromeliads, gingers, palms, heliconias,
and many other exotic and rare plants and flowers,
representing over 2,000 species in a beautiful, lush
rainforest setting. Take time following meandering paths
through this 40 acre valley garden, along streams, past
waterfalls and view waves crashing on Onomea Bay. A
scenic dream! We will continue then, up the Hamakua
Coast through the quaint plantation town of Honomu on
the way to the majestic and towering
Akaka
Falls.
Walk the short path here past coffee trees, yellow
bamboo, and wild bananas to view the 440 foot falls here
plunging down to
Kolekole River, on its way to the
Pacific
Ocean. From here we take you through old nostalgic
Pahoa
Town, to the Puna Coast and the old Hawaiian
settlement of Kalapana at “the end of the road”, where
what was spared by the volcano still stands next to vast
lava fields. Here, if you like, take a short stroll to
see new life springing up through the lava and see the
new Black Sand Beach there. Now on down the beautiful
coastal “Red Road”
to Pohoiki Bay and see locals and visitors splashing in
the bay and catching some of the most surfable waves on
the Big Island!
From here to
Ahalanui Warm Springs. This very popular volcanic
thermally heated natural pool is a favorite spot for
locals, and especially visitors to finish off this
excursion to take a dip, and relax in the springs, or
just sit and have refreshments and take in the view of
the beautiful Pacific. During winter months
this is a great spot for Whale-watching from shore.

View at Steaming Bluff, The Jaggar Museum and Hawaii
Volcano Observatory, Kilauea Caldera and
Halemaumau Crater, Thurston Lava Tube, the Rainforest
Area and Kilauea Iki Crater. Finally, on our return
to Hilo, we visit Leleiwi
Black
Sand Beach
to see the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles.
